Message from the Chairman

INVESTMENT OF CREATIVITY

We have spread all the colours, sounds and sights of life on our palette of creativity. Creativity became the wind in our sails and success, our never-ending symphony. Now we’re in our twenty-third year...

Twenty-three is the age of young bloods. Turkish is the only language that has a word to describe the concept of youth: ‘delikanlı’ (= wild-blooded). How blood flows through veins wildly. Its fury and its love, a volcano, an eruption imminent... Like the meeting of the sea and the river... Like electricity produced at a dam... A stationary and yet an immense power... How you use it is up to you. This is how we at the Boyut Publishing Group feel; and this may well be what we reflect...

Everything begins with a dream... If you want to produce a good film, a good script is what you need. If you want to write a good book, you need the talent to translate what you have observed into a readable text... Projects are essential for the future of companies. Companies only reach their targets in line with the originality and creativity of their projects.

Boyut has always had a position. A position that do not go out of fashion. Creative and successful positions make up brands. Where we stand now in publishing, we know we are on the right track.

Each spring as blossoms turn into fruit, we try to visualise three years ahead. Where do we want to see ourselves in this picture, or how do we enter the frame? If you are unable to visualise this photograph, you won’t be present in the picture when the time comes. Just as many a publisher in Turkey is absent today... In three years’ time, digital communication will be defining our lives, starting with our mobile phones and moving on to the screens around us. Our mobile phone will become the most important screen of our lives. We will all have personal screens at home, at work all over. Access speeds will improve immensely. The majority of cultural publications we now know as will be replaced by other, newer products hard to imagine today. Holding and reading a book will become as nostalgic as writing with a fountain pen. We will be discussing ‘screen readings’. Publishing will continue to develop as it keeps its importance as the most efficient advertising media. Just as TV and radio consuming are free today and newspapers and magazines sold nearly to none, tomorrow’s publications will continue to be paid for on the basis of what we actually consume. This, in its simplest form, is the future of publishing, whose main capital is creativity. Just like the conductor of a symphony orchestra waving his baton...
